Oregon

What a stinkin’ cool place to visit.

Watching the sun set at this beautiful coastal gem was such a treat to start the Oregon portion of the trip. Just off the roadside is a pull off with a viewing area where you can see the sun rays shine through the bridges and watch the waves crash. There is a 1km trail that takes you right down to the bridge area, though please be sure to watch your footing if heading off the trail, you will be standing above a very powerful sea. This spot gets very busy in the summer, but is so worth the stop in if you’re ever driving through and want to catch an epic sunset.

New Port Attractions

From wildlife, to redwood forests & beautiful waterfalls, to moody beaches; this place truly does have it all.

  • NYE Beach - beautiful spot for a morning walk

  • Cafe Stephanie - good food, SUPER BUSY and very small dining area (they do take out and dine in)

  • Blue Pig Bakery - this place has the BEST truffles I’ve ever had and a cute little shop full of all things from cute clothes to souvenirs

  • Yaquina Head Lighthouse - nice place to walk around, beautiful views

  • Quarry Cove - cute spot to walk around and spot some wildlife by the water

  • The Fish Peddler - fresh sea food

  • Port 1- THE PLACE to find sea lions (the only reason I am disclosing this location is because these animals are always in this location and if you visit the town you are able to hear them from the main road. The are far out in the port so people are unable to disturb their hangout)
